Balance reminder messages
If you have an open tab or outstanding balance with us, we may send you a message reminding you of the amount and giving you a secure link to pay it off — by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or bank transfer. These come from our official Pulse Southend WhatsApp Business number. We will never ask for your card details directly in a message — the payment link always takes you to Stripe's own secure checkout page, which is the same payment processor used by thousands of UK businesses.
WhatsApp messaging
We use WhatsApp Business to send balance reminders, account updates, birthday offers and reward notifications. Standard WhatsApp messages don't carry a charge from WhatsApp itself, though your mobile provider's normal data charges may apply. You can choose whether we contact you by WhatsApp, SMS or email at any time — see "Changing how we contact you" below.
SMS
Where WhatsApp isn't available or hasn't been set as your preference, we may fall back to a text message instead. The same balance and payment information applies — never card details sent directly by text.
Push notifications
If you've added My Pulse to your phone's home screen, you may also see notifications appear there when there's something for you to know — for example a reward becoming available. These only show while My Pulse is installed, and you can turn them off at any time from your phone's own notification settings for the My Pulse app/website.
Requesting a tab
If you ask us for a tab, we'll need your date of birth, full address, phone number and email to confirm who you are and assess a sensible limit — and we'll ask you to add a card on file. Adding a card doesn't charge it; it's verified with a £0 check through Stripe, our payment processor, and only used if a tab isn't settled another way. We never see or store your full card number ourselves. All of this is covered in our Privacy Policy, and you'll be asked to confirm you're happy with it before your request is sent.
Changing how we contact you
Sign in to My Pulse and open your account settings — there's a "Preferred contact" option where you can choose WhatsApp, SMS or Email. If you'd rather we just sorted it for you, email info@pulsesouthend.co.uk and we'll update it. Balance reminders will keep going out while you have an open balance with us, just via whichever channel you've chosen.
Still stuck?
Email info@pulsesouthend.co.uk and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
